PAY Swim Team News - January 1, 2025
Happy New Year!!
I hope the start of 2025 has you all refreshed and ready for the 2nd half of our winter swim season!
I am providing some general and specific updates below at this crucial juncture in our season. Please read through everything carefully!!
Swimmer Shout Outs:
Congratulations to Brynn Lewis for her 39th place finish in the 50 Free at the Winter Junior National Championships in Greensboro, NC last month. To be clear, she was the 39th fastest 18 & Under girl in the entire eastern half of the country with this performance!!
Her time of 23.38 was a lifetime best by almost a full half second. She now is within a half second of our team record, as a 16 year old sophomore in high school!
Congratulations to Lucille Obenski for her first Short Course YMCA National qualifying time in the 200 Back at the LAC Arena Holiday Cup!!
Congratulations to the ENTIRE PAY TEAM for placing 1st overall at the RAYS Winter Classic held at Swarthmore! Team effort all around!!!

Bill Heebner Winter Freeze Masters Meet - WE NEED TEEN VOLUNTEERS TO HELP WITH TIMING, RUNNING, ANNOUNCING, ETC.
SPY Winterfest at the University of Maryland - Friday January 17th to Sunday January 19th - INDIVIDUAL EVENT ENTRIES WILL BE FINAL AFTER FRIDAY JANUARY 3RD
***All Qualified Winterfest Swimmers were entered on the initial file. If you are not planning on attending, WE NEED TO KNOW BEFORE FRIDAY JANUARY 3RD!!!***
PennDel League Washington Division Championships - Saturday January 25th to Sunday January 26th. PLEASE NOTE: ALL TEAM MEMBERS ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND THIS FINAL LEAGUE MEET OF OUR WINTER SEASON. Older swimmers can plan on swimming a few “off” events, as a change of pace from the other bigger meets in this stretch of the season.
