New Staff Announcement: Kate Deeney - Full Time Lead Coach

PAY Swim Team Families!
Please join us in congratulating Kate Deeney as she is joining our team full time. We are so excited for Kate and the opportunities that this will bring to our swim team.
Kate is so excited to be joining the Phoenixville YMCA as a full-time employee. She has been a part time YMCA employee since 2011. During that time, she has been part of the Spring Valley Aquatics Program as a swim lesson instructor and the Phoenixville Aquatics Program as a swim lesson instructor and a PAY swim team coach.
As a young swimmer herself, she swam for a pool and team that her grandfather helped build. His own children swam there, and his grandchildren then continued that legacy. In fact, the facility is still run by her uncle today. It was a place that they went together as a family to relax, make memories, and build connections within their community. It was there that Kate learned the value of community and working together. Being a part of that competitive swim team (as well as the others she became a part) also taught her lessons that have transcended into her adult life.
The Phoenixville YMCA has become that place of community for her own family today. Her children, now teenagers, grew up at this YMCA. They have been part of many YMCA youth programs, including the competitive gymnastics team and the PAY swim team. They are learning valuable life lessons by being part of these team programs that will last them a lifetime.
Kate believes in the core values and principles that founded the YMCA, and continue to guide them to this day. Kate feels honored to become someone who can continue to spread and instill these values into members that walk through our doors and create that sense of community into others.
