NOTE: Practice Adjustments this Thursday 1/25 due to a Phoenixville HS home meet as follows:
All Senior Levels (Nat/Senior, Senior Prep 1, Senior Prep 2) - 5:45-7:45pm
Junior 2 - 7:45-8:45pm
Junior 1 - 7:45-9:15pm
NOTE: Weekly Novice Rotation as follows:
Novice 2 will practice on Friday 1/26
Novice 1 will practice on Saturday 1/27
Fundamentals/Novice 3 may attend the Novice 2 time slot on Friday evening this week from 6:45-7:45pm.
IMPORTANT NOTE: UNLESS YOU HAVE RECEIVED EXPLICIT PERMISSION AND APPROVAL FOR YOUR SWIMMER TO PRACTICE WITH A DIFFERENT GROUP ON A PARTICULAR DAY, PLEASE REFRAIN FROM BRINGING YOUR SWIMMER TO PRACTICES ASIDE FROM THEIR ASSIGNED GROUP.

Both our girls team and boys team came away with very close wins at the Reading YMCA, winning 3 age groups to 2 in both meets. The girls also narrowly won the unofficial cumulative score as well.

PAY finished 6th overall out of nearly 40 YMCA swim teams that made the trip to UMD. Congratulations to novice swimmer Sam Venderame for qualifying and competing! New individual YMCA SC National qualifying times were swum by Nick Darragh (100 Free), Kyle Kruppa (200 Free and 500 Free), and Kaitlyn McGuire (50 Free).
Both the Open Women and Men 200 Free Relay teams also posted the YMCA SC National qualifying standard:

Men: Gabe Carroll, Patrick Baganski, Sam Vallino, Nick Darragh
PAY had relays from all age groups and genders place in the top 8 of each relay event.

OTHER NEWS:
THANK YOUs- Thank you to all the volunteers who continue to sign up and show up on deck at the meets as scorers, runners, console operators, timers and officials. We can’t attend or host swim meets without a lot of adult volunteers! Stay tuned for our volunteer requirements and signups for all the upcoming February meets. Thank you!
SPECIAL THANK YOU to all the adults and teens who helped us host our Annual Winter Freeze Bill Heebner Memorial US Masters Meet earlier this month. We all witnessed World Records and American Paralympic Records being broken at our meet this year. We also cheered on a US Masters swimmer who swam her 1500M and 400M doing butterfly rather than freestyle and we applauded all the athletes who demonstrated that competitive swimming can be done at any age–all the way up to 90 years or more! It was an exciting and uplifting event and the swimmers were SO GRATEFUL for our adults and teens who hosted this meet. Thank you!
EXTRA TSHIRT ORDERS for families for Districts/States- PAY will be ordering a tshirt for the swimmers who qualify for Y Districts/States. The shirt color will be hot pink to stand out on deck- and in the stands. The qualifiers will get their free shirts automatically via an order from the shirt size you have in their team unify account so please verify that their tshirt size is correct in our database. Based on parent interest, we will also take family orders for additional tshirts. If any family member wants to order our Districts/States short sleeved t-shirt this year, you must RSVP via the Job Signup under the "Additional Non-Swimmer Tshirt Orders for Districts/States Event" in Team Unify. Add the family member name and the the tshirt size(s) for your extra order. RSVP for the additional shirts by February 9th. The extra "family" tshirts ordered will be invoiced to your account. We don't know the price yet but it will probably be about $8/shirt. Available sizes are Youth Large, Adult Small, Adult Medium, Adult Large, Adult XL, Adult XXL.
SAVE THE DATE- DISTRICTS QUALIFIERS Bowling Party-TIME TO CELEBRATE OUR YMCA DISTRICTS QUALIFIERS! Sunday March 3- BOWLING PARTY FOR DISTRICTS QUALIFIERS- will be held at Arnolds Bowling in Oaks PA 2:15pm-5:00 pm. Bowling for 1 hour then pizza/drinks/free time in the arcade with a game card. We are working on the details but cost may be around $20/swimmer. If your swimmer has qualified for YMCA Districts in at least one event, then you can sign them up to attend this Bowling Party but if your swimmer is aged 12 or Under, you must have an adult stay on the premises during the event- or a fellow swimmer's parent to be your adult chaperone, etc. (there is a bar and food area for parents attending.). RSVP on Team Unify by Feb. 24!
SAVE THE DATE for our PAY END-OF-SEASON AWARDS DINNER at Rivercrest Golf Club- Wednesday, May 8th for all PAY families. More details will follow within a few months.

FACEBOOK-Come follow “PAY Swimming” on Facebook to celebrate the achievements of all of our kids. Even better, text or email your child’s photo and “brags” from our swim meets to swim mom Donna Hungarter to share on the PAY Swimming page at (484) 686-3156 or dmhungarter@gmail.com. And, we have a private “PAY Swim Parents” Facebook page that will be a parent-share page for quick questions, etc. Search for PAY Swim Parents then you’ll be instructed to type in your child’s swim practice group and someone will approve your request if your swimmer is on our PAY team this year. This private site will be monitored for content and is not meant for photos. We will still have our public PAY Swimming FB page, noted above, for sharing photos through parent Donna Hungarter.
