Please note that there are 4 Phoenixville HS home swim meets in December/January where further adjustments to this schedule will be necessary.
IMPORTANT NOTE: UNLESS YOU HAVE RECEIVED EXPLICIT PERMISSION AND APPROVAL FOR YOUR SWIMMER TO PRACTICE WITH A DIFFERENT GROUP ON A PARTICULAR DAY, PLEASE REFRAIN FROM BRINGING YOUR SWIMMER TO PRACTICES ASIDE FROM THEIR ASSIGNED GROUP.

COACH NOTES:
Swimmers in the Lancaster YMCA Lightning Holiday Classic at York and/or the Ridley YMCA Rays Winter Classic at Swarthmore: please be on the lookout for emails with meet details within the next few days. I am still waiting on some important details from both hosts. Thank you for your patience!
Recap of our busy month of November Meets

We have been racing extremely well as a team in the month of November. Our 9-10 girls and 11-12 girls are both undefeated after 3 dual meets. I am hopeful that they can wrap up an undefeated season for our last dual in January. More on that meet below!

We ran a highly successful Turkey Trot Invitational for 12 and Under swimmers from 9 different local YMCA’s, including our own.

We also had a convincing 2nd place finish in the girls, boys, and combined team scoring at the York YMCA’s Tournament of Champions Invitational. This meet gave us a glimpse of what to expect at our YMCA Central District Meet (also at York Y) in March.
Upcoming Team Dual Meets
Our 4th and FINAL team dual meet of the season is taking place on the first Saturday in January (Jan. 6th), when we take a trip to Berks County to visit our friends at the Reading YMCA. For those of you that have never been to RY, this is always one of our closest, most competitive, and most spirited dual meets of the entire calendar year. It gets LOUD on Reading’s pool deck, and their pool has a reputation of being FAST! Make sure to commit your swimmer to the meet by the links below or the Events on Team Unify. Adult volunteers will be needed for this away meet and signups will be available closer to the meet.

PLEASE NOTE: At the moment, SPY (the hosts of Winterfest) are wanting all 13 and Over swimmers to have 2 individual cuts for Winterfest. I can tell you from previous years (after the midseason December invites wrap up and quantity of entries become clearer) that they have ended up allowing “1 cut” 13 and Over swimmers to enter into Winterfest as well. However, I just want to make sure that everyone knows this is the current instruction I’ve been given. My two cents: leave no doubt and get 2 or more cuts as a 13 and Over swimmer ;)

Parent Swim Team Questions- if you are new and have questions about swim team, email Kate Baganski (kbaganski@verizon.net) and she or someone else will get back to you and/or meet you to go over your questions.
THANK YOUs- Thank you to all the swimmers and families that helped with our season of giving by way of participating or donating funds for our first ever Swim-a-Thon for the Daniel Buchanan Swim-for-Life fund– raising over $7000 in scholarship money for Phoenixville YMCA families needing assistance for swim lessons or swim team. Way to go!! Thank you also to all those who brought in gifts for the YMCA’s Angel Giving Tree (due 12/10 to the front desk if you didn’t bring in your wrapped or unwrapped gift yet!!) Over the years- including this year, PAY swim team and the Y community have collected and wrapped over 2400 gifts for local children. This year our gifts will be going to over 80 Phoenixville children in need! We are spreading our #PAYLove!! Thank you!
SAVE THE DATE for the Annual Winter Freeze Bill Heebner Memorial US Masters Meet on Sunday, January 7th! PAY Teens and Families will be needed to help us host this Masters Meet for swimmers aged 19 to 99!! Swimmers come from up and down the east coast to compete in our Myrin Pool. Please help us by volunteering during the meet to support adult swimmers trying to achieve short course meters World Records. Always an exciting and uplifting event and their entry fees are an easy fundraiser for our PAY swim team. More info and volunteer signups are in Team Unify under the event. Thanks in advance!
SAVE THE DATE for our PAY END-OF-SEASON AWARDS DINNER at Rivercrest Golf Club- Wednesday, May 8th for all PAY families. More details will follow within a few months.

FACEBOOK-Come follow “PAY Swimming” on Facebook to celebrate the achievements of all of our kids. Even better, text or email your child’s photo and “brags” from our swim meets to swim mom Donna Hungarter to share on the PAY Swimming page at (484) 686-3156 or dmhungarter@gmail.com. And, we have a private “PAY Swim Parents” Facebook page that will be a parent-share page for quick questions, etc. Search for PAY Swim Parents then you’ll be instructed to type in your child’s swim practice group and someone will approve your request if your swimmer is on our PAY team this year. This private site will be monitored for content and is not meant for photos. We will still have our public PAY Swimming FB page, noted above, for sharing photos through parent Donna Hungarter.
