AM PRACTICES- TUES 11/7/2023- AM practice is moved to 8-9:30am due to no school for most. THURSDAY 11/9/2023 is back to normal AM time.

WEEKEND PRACTICES

Novice 2 practices this Friday from 6:15-7:15pm.

NO PRACTICES this Saturday or Sunday due to the home meets.

IMPORTANT NOTE: UNLESS YOU HAVE RECEIVED EXPLICIT PERMISSION AND APPROVAL FOR YOUR SWIMMER TO PRACTICE WITH A DIFFERENT GROUP ON A PARTICULAR DAY, PLEASE REFRAIN FROM BRINGING YOUR SWIMMER TO PRACTICES ASIDE FROM THEIR ASSIGNED GROUP.

BOYS DUAL vs. UMLY (HOME) - Sat 11/11 Volunteer Job Signup Tab is posted under the Event. 2024 Graduating Senior Recognition will occur at 10:50am before the meet begins.

GIRLS DUAL vs. UMLY (HOME) - Sat 11/11 Volunteer Job Signup Tab is posted under the Event. More volunteers are still needed for the afternoon meet. 2024 Graduating Senior Recognition will occur at 2:50pm before the meet begins.

***11/11/2023 at 6pm after our meets we’ll be looking for a few enthusiastic volunteers to help us tape down the tarps in the West Gym to get ready for theSunday Turkey Trot meet. Please email back if you can come back Saturday evening or stay to join us!! Many hands make quick work. We can tape the tarps in about 30 minutes if we have enough volunteers.

PAY Turkey Trot Invitational - Sunday!!

This is our annual team hosted invitational for the 12 and Under age groups with our teens and adults volunteering. This meet is our team's biggest fundraiser across the entire calendar year, so your family's food/drink and time contributions to it are valuable!! Sign ups for food/drink/time donations are available under the events in Team Unify. Thank you!

The York YMCA’s “Tournament of Champions”- Sat/Sun 11/18-11/19-registration closed. Meet details will be emailed to those attending a few days prior to the meet.

12/2/2023 - SAVE THE DATE for a team wide SWIM-A-THON for the Daniel Buchanon Swim for Life fund. The Daniel Buchanan Swim for Life Fund is an endowment fund that was specifically created to support the Aquatics Community of the Phoenixville YMCA. The explicit goal of the fund is to provide as many children as possible, in the Phoenixville Area, the opportunity to learn how to swim through swim lessons, and to continue their love of swimming through swim team. The swim-a-thon will take place during our Saturday practices starting at 10AM and ending at 6:30pm with every practice group participating in designated blocks of time. We are asking swimmers and their families to raise money to support the Daniel Buchanan Swim for Life Fund.

Did You Know?

$100 - Pays for half a session of swim lessons

$200 – Pays for a full session of swim lessons

$500 - Pays for 4 months on the swim team

$1500 - Pays for 1 year on the swim team

Parent Swim Team Questions- if you are new and have questions about swim team, email Kate Baganski (kbaganski@verizon.net) and she or someone else will get back to you and/or meet you to go over your questions.

SCOREBOARD- Thank you to all who provided donations to the YMCA for our new scoreboard. After a year of hoping and fundraising, the YMCA has installed a new scoreboard above the Myrin Pool. Thank you also to the primary sponsors detailed on the scoreboard: Daniel Buchanan Swim for Life Fund, Phoenixville Federal Bank & Trust, and Rotary Club of Phoenixville.

Hey Turkey Trot Volunteers- we ordered some extra Turkey Trot t-shirts to sell at our meet but if you want us to reserve one for you to wear proudly as you help us volunteer, reply email or email Kelly Miller (kelly211miller@gmail.com) to inquire about available sizes ($20 payable in cash when you collect your shirt). If you previously ordered Turkey Trot shirts, we’ll distribute them at the meet too. PS- we still have room for more teen or adult volunteers for our Turkey Trot meet - half day and full day shifts available- reply or contact Kate Baganski if interested–especially for Officials or skilled jobs Thank you!

PAY TEAM TSHIRTS will be distributed at the November swim meets if your swimmer did not pick up their shirt yet.

PAY SWIM CAPS will be distributed to all the swimmers when we see the shipment from the manufacturer. Only half the caps have arrived so far.

ANGEL GIVING TREE is in the Y lobby. Our annual giving tree is up and ready for all of us within our Y family to take a tag or a few! Return one copy of each tag to the front desk with your name and phone number and then have fun shopping!The gifts can be returned wrapped or unwrapped by Dec. 10th to the front desk. Swim Team will be having wrap parties to finish the wrapping in mid-December. Our giving tree will be providing joy and love to 80 local children. Thank you in advance!

USED EQUIPMENT or OUTGROWN APPAREL and SUITS: If your family has used equipment or outgrown bathing suits or apparel to donate to our PAY team, please let Kelly Miller or Claudia Zinn know because we will be having a Previously Used Sale during our Turkey Trot meet. (Cash sales and most items are $3-$40 including barely worn tech suits and parkas)

And, we have a private “PAY Swim Parents” Facebook page that will be a parent-share page for quick questions, etc. Search for PAY Swim Parents then you’ll be instructed to type in your child’s swim practice group and someone will approve your request if your swimmer is on our PAY team this year. This private site will be monitored for content and is not meant for photos. We will still have our public PAY Swimming FB page, noted above, for sharing photos through parent Donna Hungarter.

SUPER SENIORS- Hey Graduating Seniors!! Ella Bice, Carys Collin, Lexie Elsner, Jiya Dugad, Mika Munion, Macey Speakman, Patrick Baganski, Gabe Carroll, Matthew Ferenz, Kyle Kruppa, Aidan Maiale, and Logan Seiss- we’ll be recognizing you at our last home dual meets on 11/11/2023 before the boys and girls meets begin. Let’s be ready to cheer these swimmers on Saturday!
